The Way We Play

Disney was always well known for their family friendly movies and lovable characters, but has the style of Disney’s games changed? I’d say not and I’m glad it hasn’t! Many other popular gaming sites have changed based of player interest and demand, but I love how Disney keeps it on the short and narrow. Most of Disney’s games are interactive or just fun to play. The older games, of my generation, when the Disney Channel still looked something like the image below, the games were different. I have gone through and played a few myself to see if my thoughts were true and come to find out I wasn’t too far off! The games I played when I was younger were less learning based than the newer games.

Disney is very kid friendly but now I see the hidden potential behind these new games. We always stress the importance of learning and not getting consumed by the ‘evil’ technology, but I love how Disney continues to make magic happen! They have added learning elements into their newest games that supports cognitive and intellectual abilities. Of course with more time the games will become more advanced in detail, but Disney has this amazing talent to make games a fun and easy learning experience.

A good example of this would be Dory’s Memory Game and Hannah Montana’s Rock Star Fashion Challenge game. I took the liberty to play both of the games and see which of these two memory games I would do better on. I’ll be honest, I was pretty bad at both of them haha! The difference in these two games is the options I was was given. Dory’s game had three levels of difficulty while Hannah Montana’s game only allowed me single and multiplayer options. They are both great memory games, but I believe that the newer games definitely give room to different ranges of abilities while the older games are much simpler. You should check out other Disney Games! They have plenty to play on both the official site and the Disney Channel site as well!
